Steve McQueen As “Bullitt”

Detective Frank Bullitt has just received what sounds like a routine assignment: keep a star witness out of sight and out of danger for 48 hours, then deliver him to the courtroom on Monday A.M. But before the night is out, the witness will lie dying of shotgun wounds. And Bullitt, a no-glitter, all-guts cop, won’t rest until he nabs the gunmen… and the elusive underworld kingpin who hired them.

Star-studded cast trapped in a plunging airplane… And only a death-defying rescue mission can save them!

Columbia Airlines’ flight 409, piloted by Captain Stacy, is on its way from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles when it is struck by a small plane, leaving a gaping hole in the nose of the giant aircraft. Stacy is critically injured and his co-pilot killed, forcing chief stewardess Nancy Pryor to take the controls. Back on the ground, a daring rescue mission is planned: former jet pilot Alan Murdoch is to be lowered from a helicopter into the yawning hole of the 747 to land it safely.

It’s a treacherous mission and one of the most spectacular stunts ever filmed!
